Northeast Youth and Family Services Addition

Finding themselves lacking space in their current facilities, Northeast Youth and Family Services Discovery Center sought design services to expand their current facilities to better accommodate their services. Busch’s experience with K-12 institutional design proved helpful in developing design options for the additional spaces required to service their at-risk youth programs. The additional spaces impacted by the new gymnasium addition include a new activity space, kitchen, dining area, conference room, recreation room, restrooms, and additional storage. Sustainable design considerations were included through flexible final design, daylighting windows, high-efficiency mechanical systems, and pervious exterior pavement.
