Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Child Advocacy Center

Busch Architects, Inc. was hired to renovate a building that the Band has owned for numerous years. The intent of the project has been to transform the building into a cohesive homebase for the Health & Human Services - Child Advocacy Division. Previously, the structure housed multiple operations—a bed & breakfast, veterinarian clinic, and antique shop—that segmented the building. Our Design Team aided in reconnecting all of the spaces to provide a functional, safe environment for clients and staff. The scope of the project includes new finishes throughout, adding a restroom, and remodeling the street-facing façade. Security and flow analysis have been conducted for the Band to better understand the way that the space functions and allows them to maintain a safe, trauma-informed educational environment.
